One of the most unique areas on the Fraser Coast.
There is a certain place in Queensland, Australia, where the Susan River meets the Mary River and together they spill out into the Great Sandy Strait.
River Heads is one of the most unique areas on the Fraser Coast, situated on a small peninsula of land at the mouth of the Mary River and set in the midst of the Great Sandy Straits, it boasts the most incredible views of Fraser Island and its surrounding landscape.
From its origins as a small fishing village on the mouth of the Mary River, River Heads has gone from strength to strength and is set to be one of the premiere locations on the Fraser Coast in years to come. Many people from larger cities around Australia are flocking to River Heads for a “seachange” and to improve their quality of life.
It’s the sweeping views of Fraser Island and Great Sandy Straits created by the elevated ridge running through River Heads that attracts them. With its natural elevation of up to 50m above sea level there is no shortage of spectacular viewpoints to take in the scenery and all residential areas are above flood levels which is very important in the unpredictable Queensland weather.
Between the rivers and estuaries on the western side of the ridge and Fraser Island to the East there is no shortage of amazing views to behold from River Heads.
There are currently well over 800 homes in River Heads and this number is climbing very quickly with around 40 brand new homes a year sprouting up all over the peninsula.
